Peter Puppy At The Beach

Peter Puppy loves spending time on the beach in Australia. He puts on his Hawaiian swim trunks and sandals, applies some colourful zinc suncream and gets right on down to some serious beach business. He doesn't go to Bondi Beach, because it gets too crowded especially on hot days, but on one beach, Hiyungi Beach, he's free to be as alone as he wants to be.

On Hiyungi Beach, it's always a sunny day. On days like this, Peter takes off his sandals and runs barefoot across the beach holding his favourite shell. He is always careful not to touch any jellyfish, because we know how deadly jellyfish stings are. He always happens to pass a sand fort or some pieces of a leftover beach cricket game or two, and uses the sticks as swords for a sword fight with an invisible friend. Peter likes playing with invisible friends, although some partegoers might think Peter is just hallucinating. Anyhoo, it's just pretend play! Peter knows that the waters of Australian beaches can be very, very dangerous, and stays away in case of sharks.

He likes to draw in the sand with his stick and observe crabs scuttling along the shore. The beach really is Peter's favourite place to go, even when he's stressed. He can always feel it calling to him in his lungs and heart - and when he has the urge to go there, he goes.
