Bucky O'Hare and Duke the dog are the fun-loving friends of a boy called Scampi, who live in a fish and chip van in a fairground somewhere on Sunshine Coast. What's best about living at the fair is that the whole world is your playground there - there are candyfloss stalls and rollercoasters everywhere you look, and there are lots of bouncy castles to bounce on. Duke especially loves eating fish and chips for every meal each day. During the day, visitors to the fair simply can't understand why one young boy is running around the fair with two cartoon friends by his side, but at night, when the fair is quiet and empty, Scampi and his friends have the fair all to themselves. They spin on the spinning teacups, ride the ferris wheel and take a ride on the rollercoasters. They even happen to stroll across town, looking for exciting new places to see. Such a joy to live in the fairground and have fun in it on starlit, twinkling nights.
